Submissions

I often get the question: “What are you listening to?” I always answer with noting that there is a ton of amazing independent music out there, and right in our own backyard. I’m so inspired by folks like Richie, founder of Traktivist, which is an entire platform dedicated to promoting Asian American musicians across genres, to combat the idea that Asian American artists “aren’t marketable” or that we don’t exist. 

So for me here at Hip Hop x Asian America, I enjoy interviewing hip hop artists and practitioners, about project concepts, Asian American identities, your artist journey, and what you want your audience to experience. I have a high level of interest in artists who are involved with their communities in some capacity— whether through organizing, education, or by other means.

I’m open to receiving all types of media (music, videos, visual art, etc) from artists of all backgrounds.
